The phone as the connection, not just the client
Where the home line is unreliable or absent, the phone shares its data with a laptop and runs the trading app at the same time. Both jobs draw on the same plan and the same battery, and the app is by far the smaller of the two consumers — charts on a laptop over a hotspot will use far more.
That has a practical consequence for the evening. A hotspot running for the whole London and New York stretch is several hours of continuous radio use, so the phone should be on a charger before 15:00 PHT rather than at 22:00 when the warning appears. A phone that dies takes the laptop offline with it.
It also argues for keeping the app installed even when a laptop is the main device. If the hotspot is the connection, the phone is the one device guaranteed to still be online when something goes wrong with the rest of the setup.
Notifications, Focus and a session that starts late
The hours that matter here arrive in the evening, which is exactly when most phones are set to go quiet. A Focus or do-not-disturb schedule that starts at 22:00 will silence the alert for the New York open, and the alert will look like it never fired.

An iPad earns its place as a chart screen rather than as a second trading device. Split view lets a chart sit beside notes or a plan, which suits the way an evening session is usually run here — the decisions were made earlier, and the device is there to execute them and watch.
One more case is common enough to name: a phone carried abroad by somebody working overseas, still thinking in Manila hours while sitting in another timezone. Keeping one clock on PHT and writing plan times in PHT keeps the plan readable, because the sessions have not moved — only the person has.
